Installation

- Clone this repository or navigate to the zig-programming directory:
cd /path/to/zig-docs/zig-programming
- Create a symlink to your Claude Code skills directory:

- Verify installation:

The skill automatically detects your Zig version using:

Updating the Skill
From Git Repository
If you installed via symlink:
cd /path/to/zig-docs
git pull origin main
The symlink automatically reflects the updates. Restart Claude Code.
From Zip File
- Download the latest zig-programming.zip
- Remove the old skill:
rm -rf ~/.claude/skills/zig-programming
- Extract the new version:
unzip zig-programming.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/
- Restart Claude Desktop.
Troubleshooting
Skill Not Activating
Check installation:
ls -la ~/.claude/skills/zig-programming/SKILL.md
If the file doesn't exist, reinstall the skill.
Check SKILL.md format:
- File must have YAML frontmatter with
nameanddescription - Must be valid markdown
Restart Claude:
- Close and reopen Claude Code or Claude Desktop
Version Detection Not Working
Manual specification: Add to your project's CLAUDE.md:

Run detection script:

Templates Not Found
Check directory structure:

python build/build_references.py --version 0.16.0

python build/package_skill.py .
